I was given a garland at the outset of the LIT (Literacy India Trust) 25th Silver Jubilee Celebration. I was honored to receive it. It was incredibly elaborate extending down past my waist. It was an acknowledgement of respect and appreciation for my being with them at their celebration, but at a deeper level it really was an acknowledgement and appreciation of LEI's (Literacy and Evangelism Internationals) partnership over the history of LIT's existence. It was my privilege to be the representative of an entire mission organization that has partnered with LIT to transform hundreds of thousands of lives across India.
Rev. Sid Rice is currently serving as President & CEO of Literacy and Evangelism International (LEI), headquartered in Tulsa, OK. LEI equips the Church to share the message of Jesus Christ through the gift of reading. We develop Bible-content materials to teach basic reading in local languages and conversational English. We train church leaders and missionaries to use LEI materials for evangelism, discipleship and church planting.
